Brass Empress
Pop and R&B, fronted by horns.
Brass Empress are a six-piece pop and R&B band built around female lead vocals and a four-piece horn section: saxophone, sousaphone, trombone and trumpet, with drums underneath. The result is a fuller, bigger sound than a standard pop band, suited to rooms that need to fill quickly and stay full.
Greater Manchester-based and available UK-wide, the band’s collective credits include the Coronation military march, the UK’s leading James Bond music tribute, and a BBC-televised VE Day commemoration. Individual members have appeared on BBC Young Musician and The Voice, with extensive touring and theatre work behind them.
Standard format is two 60-minute sets or three 40-minute sets with full PA, lighting and an included playlist DJ service. Add an afternoon acoustic trio, an extra evening set, a 1am finish, or upgrade to a manned DJ.
